ID-Cooling Unveils IS-30 Series Low-profile CPU Coolers
ID-Cooling today unveiled the IS-30 line of low-profile CPU coolers. With their fans installed, these coolers have a height of just 30 mm. There isn't enough room for a multi-socket retention module, and so there are socket-specific variants. The IS-30I Black is designed for Socket LGA1700 and LGA1200/115x, while the IS-30AMD is designed for Sockets AM5 and AM4. A key difference in design between the two is what while the IS-30I Black has all-black fins and heatpipes, while IS-30AMD uses bare aluminium fins, and nickel-plated copper heatpipes.
The design for the IS-30 series is pretty straightforward—four 6 mm-thick copper heatpipes make indirect contact with the processor through a copper base, conveying heat through a thin aluminium fin-stack, which is ventilated by a thin 92 mm fan. This fan features a sleeved bearing, turns at speeds between 800 to 3,600 RPM, pushing up to 40 CFM of airflow, with noise levels ranging between 17 to 35.8 dBA. With the fan in place, the cooler measures 94 mm x 94 mm x 30 mm (not including the retention module, so it's 30 mm up from the point of contact with the processor. ID-Cooling claims that the cooler can take thermal loads of up to 100 W. The company didn't reveal pricing.

GIGABYTE Intros AORUS GC-WIFI7 PCIe WLAN Card Supporting up to 5800 Mbps Bandwidth,
GIGABYTE released the GC-WIFI7, a WLAN card in the PCIe add-on card form-factor, which, as its name suggests, gives your desktop the power of Wi-Fi 7. Given how the new wireless networking standard is exotic and provides a more than 2.2x gain in Wi-Fi bandwidth over Wi-Fi 6E, GIGABYTE decided to give this accessory its coveted AORUS Gaming branding and product design. The card supports tri-band, and a theoretical maximum bandwidth of 5800 Mbps, with support for 320 MHz and 160 Hz channels. The card also supports MLO, in which it simultaneously connects to a 2.4 GHz and 5/6 GHz network. The card comes with a stylish antenna array that supports up to 5 dBi signal strength. Besides Wi-Fi 7, the card also provides Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
The most interesting aspect about this product is that it has three hardware revisions at launch. The Rev 1.0 card is based on a Qualcomm chipset; Rev 1.1 is based on a MediaTek chipset, and Rev 1.2 is based on Intel, all three offering identical hardware specs and performance levels. Rev 1.0 is based on a Qualcomm QCA FastConnect 7800 controller; Rev 1.1 rocks a MediaTek MT7927 controller; while the Rev 1.2 uses an Intel BE200. All three revisions are sold under the same SKU, and it's only in a brick-and-mortar store that you can figure out what you want by looking closely at the barcode sticker, where the revision is mentioned. The company didn't reveal pricing.

TUXEDO Computers Launches Sirius 16 - First all-AMD Linux Gaming Laptop
Uptake on AMD's latest generation mobile offerings has been slow and steady to put it mildly, but today TUXEDO Computers, a specialist in Linux notebooks at a range of performance and pricing tiers, has announced pre-orders for their new Sirius 16 gaming laptop. This machine combines AMD's latest generation Ryzen 7 7840HS "Phoenix" APU with a Radeon RX 7600M XT RDNA3 GPU inside a sleek all aluminium chassis design that strives to remain understated while still providing a "sleek gamer look" via programmable RGB keys. The Sirius 16 is TUXEDO's first go at an all-AMD configuration and they've held very little back, choosing to allow the full TDP rating of the Phoenix APU at 54 W sustained (or 80 W CPU-only turbo) as well as keeping the RDNA3 GPU at its rated 120 W TGP under full CPU+GPU loads. The Sirius 16 features venting out of both sides as well as the rear of the chassis, and roughly half of the bottom panel is open intake for the dual-fan cooling system.
Powering everything is a 230 W power brick and an 80 Wh replaceable battery bolted inside the chassis. TUXEDO claims up to 10 hours of battery life at minimum display brightness with wireless disabled and without any programmable lighting enabled, or a more realistic 6 hours at medium brightness with wireless enabled and under minimal "office work" load.
