Synology NAS discussion - andrew - 10-28-2023

Discuss Synology NAS and their great operating system DSM here. You can host multiple websites and even mail servers on them. I am currently running a mail-server, two websites, and a full blown automated plex environment with Overseer, Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr. Automatically adding Movies, TV shows, and music to plex. All on a single device. I went for the Synology Diskstation 423+ because it supports hardware transcoding with plex. Make sure to avoid the Diskstation 920+ if you care about hardware transcoding.

Also the DS 223+ is a good option for a two bay NAS. I bought one for my father and it also is capable of hardware transcoding with plex.
